34th Scrimshaw & Nautical Antiques Weekend

34th Scrimshaw & Nautical Antiques Weekend
including the 13th Scrimshaw & Nautical Antiques Show

May 9-10-11, 2025 in New Bedford
at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott*

Presented by the Antique Scrimshaw Collectors Association

This May, enthusiasts, collectors, and armchair maritime historians will gather in New Bedford to enjoy a unique Maritime Weekend, devoted to nautical antiques, scrimshaw, and folk art.  The event (first held in 1989) is celebrated for informative presentations, festive meals, auction previews, and after-hours camaraderie, and for bringing together people from all across the nation (and often a few from abroad) to share a mutual interest in our deeply held legacy of sailor arts and nautical lore.  The Friday Nautical Antiques Show (one of the world’s few remaining markets for authentic antique scrimshaw) is always of keen interest; the Saturday symposium includes presentations by experts on a broad spectrum of artworks and artifacts; and an optional Sunday field trip, a "Scrimshaw Voyage to Martha's Vineyard," is an opportunity to visit museums, view a world-class private scrimshaw collection, and enjoy a delightful lunch with fellow scrimshaw enthusiasts.
